“Pearl of the Campine”
Westerlo carries with pride the title “pearl of the Campine”.
The list of pearls is extensive: the abbey of Tongerlo with the famous replica painting of the “last supper”, The Castle of prince” De Merode”, The town hall as historical landmark.
And then there is the overwhelming nature that starts at the backdoor of B&B Carpe Diem.
If you want to discover the surroundings, the network of walking and cycling trails proves to be very handy. You can enter these networks at the end of the dead end street.
The copious breakfast consists of freshly baked bread rolls and bacon and eggs will charge you with the right energy level for your hunt for the pearls.
